Neil spent over 25 years (1979 - 2004) in Allied Irish Bank Group working mainly in the UK. In this career Neil worked at senior levels including Head of Recoveries in 1990’s, Head of Network Development and Personal Banking, Head of Strategic Development GB and Senior Manager Business Development in Berkeley Square London.
Neil moved to Poland with AIB in 2001 to strategically advise and manage the High Risk Loans in the merged Bank Zachodni WBK SA (owned 79% by AIB). In 2001 33% of bank loans were classified “non performing”. Today the Bank has the lowest level of NPL’s amongst Polish banks. Neil also assumed the role as Credit Director Poland until leaving the banking group in 2004 to set up his own business consultancy in Poland. AIB agreed a sale of BZWBK SA (top 4 Bank in Poland in September 2010) for Euro 3.10 Billion to Santander Group. Neil has been living in Poland since 2001.
In 2007 Neil joined the boards of a substantial Irish owned international property group to build their business in Poland. The economic collapse in Ireland brought down the group’s operations in Ireland, UK, Italy, Spain and Portugal. However Neil has worked out the Polish portfolio without recourse to formal insolvency. This consisted of both residential and commercial development in Poznań, Kraków, Szczecin, Toruń and Wrocław with a value in excess of Euro 100m.
Neil has also worked with large property funds investing in Poland (value in excess Euro 500 million) and many inward investors seeking other business opportunities.
